My Picks for 12/2/06

Shit, it's almost like I've forgotten about my blog again. My apologies. I have a presentation and paper due Tuesday, and finals next week, so it hasn't been on my mind. After Dec 15 I'll be back on it 100%. Anyway, a little late, though none have kicked off, my picks for the day:

1* New Mexico St -10 Over LA Tech - I advise not watching this game if it's on TV, these teams are terrible. But NM St's offense has been strong all season long, and LA Tech has simply been terrible on both sides of the ball. NM St should score at will against a team that just wants to end it's season, and NM St wins by 2 TD or more.

2* SDSU +3 Over Colorado St - Again, 2 horrible teams here. But SDSU continues to play hard for coach Long, and are overall a solid team despite their record. I foresee SDSU to come out and play harder than CSU, and move the ball on a bad defense, winning this game outright.

3* Hawaii -8 Over Oregon St - Hawaii has been so strong at home, as usual. The question isn't whether Hawaii will score enough, the question is how much OSU will score. If Hawaii puts up 40 they cover easily, and they will do this.

4* West VA -9 Over Rutgers - Mismatch here. Rutgers is solid, but way overrated. West VA lost at home last week to USF, and that gives us serious value. Rutgers simply will not be able to hang with the WV athletes, and WV wins this one by 20+.

5* UL-Lafayette -3 Over UL-Monroe - Again, don't watch this game. But to bet it, I highly advise. UL-L has had a rough year, but are a far superior team. If this game was 2 months ago, UL-L would have been favored by 14. They will be up for this game, and roll covering that 14 even.

Now to the big one! The Big 12 Championship. Throughout this week I loved OU. I thought they'd win easily. But now the day is here, and I'm feeling more confident in NU. But my head tells me differently than my heart. My head says that NU can't move the ball consistently on the OU defense. So go with OU. However, my heart is telling me that Callahan is going to really open it up, get the offense loose and confident right away, and as a result NU wins the game. Shit, I just can't wait, hurry up 7:00!!!

Good Luck!

DK
