What an amazing game last night - too bad my bet was on the wrong side. PSU was going in for a possible TD late and a push, but there was a bad exchange and they fumbled. That puts me at 10-7 on the bowl season. I don't like the game tonight, but will take it anyway because of how big it is.
1* Texas +7 Over USC - I think this game is impossible to pick. I can see either team winning. Texas has a better all around team in my mind, but USC is USC, and have 2 Heisman winners in the backfield. Let's just hope for a classic game tonight, that's all I really want.

Orange Bowl!
Well, my 5*'s haven't been real hot. Turnovers early killed Georgia last night, but Alabama delivered for me. Still, I am 10-6 in my * rated games, 62.5%, and that is a great percentage. My 5 *'s are only 2-3, so hopefully I can make that 3-3 tonight, because I have a 5*...
5* Penn St -10 Over Florida St - There are a lot of themes in this one, most notably Paterno vs. Bowden. When all is said and done in this game, PSU has every conceviable advantage - better defense, more experience, better offense, better special teams. FSU has only beaten a couple of good teams this year, VT and Miami, and we've come to find that Miami is not very good. Give me the Penn St defense, Michael Robinson, and throw out the fact this one is played in Florida, and Penn St wins this one by 3 TD's.
Tomorrow night is the big one!

The Big Bowls are here!
I am sitting at 5-3 now on my star picks, but those damn 5*'s are killing me! I actually pushed a bet on Iowa St, but I'm calling it a loss because it went off at 1` and ISU lost by 3. These are going to be quick:
1* Iowa Pick Over Florida - I'll take Ferentz in this one, he can outcoach anyone.
2* Ohio St -5 Over Notre Dame - Ohio St has a big talent edge and giant defensive edge. This would be a 5* except I have so much respect for Charlie Weis. However Tressel is a great coach as well and Ohio St should win easily.
3* Va Tech -9 Over Louisville - VA Tech may be somewhat disappointed to be in this bowl as they got smoked in the ACC Championship by FSU. However Beemer will have his guys ready to play and will take out their frustrations on an overrated Louisville team. L'Ville is solid, but playing without QB Brohm they are not the same team, and VT wins by 3 TD's.
5* Georgia -6 Over West VA - Giant talent gap here, and the senior QB Shockley gets it done. Georgia showed what they can do when they play to their potential in the SEC Championship, and should continue that roll and beat the hell out of West VA.
5* Alabama +3` Over Texas Tech - I'm shocked Bama is the dog in this game. Tech is very good, but their defense is weak. Bama has one of the best defenses in the country, has a senior QB who is solid in Croyle, and Tech will have a lot of trouble scoring, as Bama wins this one by 2 TD's.
Good Luck everyone and enjoy the bowls. I have one more 5* coming in the Orange Bowl, then will make my Rose Bowl pick Wednesday.
