Media days, as always, are fairly uneventful. However it does make for some good local sports radio, with interviews of all the coaches and many of the better players in the league. My predictions will come in a few weeks, so for now I'll just talk about NU. They seem to be focused on having a good season, and the players seem MUCH more comofortable with Callahan and his system, as senior offensive tackle Seppo Evwaraye said "The first year with the playbook and all the terminology, it looked like Hebrew to me. "This year, we remembered a lot of stuff from the season, so we picked it up faster." I think they are confident they will win games, but know that it will not be immediate, when Callahan said "Our goal is to bring Nebraska back to being in the national championship hunt on a yearly basis. This has been a significant challenge. To target exactly when that transformation is going to occur, I don't know. I really don't." I am happy with where we are headed, especially with that recruiting class coming in. I still think Callahan is getting a bad rap right now because we didn't go to a bowl. But we knew we wouldn't go the rest of our lives going to a bowl every single season, so we got that season over with, and now the future looks very bright. The schedule sets up well early, and if we can go 4-1 or 5-0 in the first 5 games it should be a great season. GO BIG RED!!!

Dave --
Hopefully you will posting your and Mullen's football picks each week. Judging on your performance from last year, they should all be stone cold locks.
Yes, Bart, I will be posting mine and Mullin's football picks. Of course it won't be until after kickoff!
